Each note features Turkish national symbols and major historical figures. Currencies also accepted in North Cyprus are Pounds Sterling and the Cyprus Pound. Although traders tend to offer an exchange rate with the Cyprus Pound of up to 15% off its true market value.

Coins
There are six new coins - 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 Kurus and the 1 YTL coin. There are 100 Kurus in the New Turkish Lira.
